Adult Meditation Cancelled February 22
Adult Meditation originally scheduled for Thursday, February 22, has been cancelled. Upcoming dates will be Thursdays, March 1 and 15, at 10 am and 7 pm. RSVP is appreciated, so we can contact participants in the event of a cancellation: 973-226-8636.
HOOPLA is Back!
HOOPLA is back for Roseland Free Public Library patrons! Simply go to and enter your library card information to download free music, movies, television programs, audiobooks, and ebooks. Please note: each patron is entitled to any FOUR downloads per month at this time.
Leveled Reading List Books Available
Noecker Kids & Parents: We now have a list of books available at the library for the leveled reading system used at Noecker Elementary School. All you have to do is inquire at the Circulation Desk, and you can see a list of books at your child's current level that we have available.
Adult Yoga Every Wednesday
Join us for an Adult Mat Yoga Class every Wednesday at 11:30 am for another invigorating sesssion with Taryn and Kristin. RSVP is not required, but still helpful in case we need to reach participants in the event of a cancellation.
Fundraiser Theater Trip
The Friends of the Roseland Free Public Library will host a fundraiser bus trip on Saturday, March 24, to Lambertville, NJ to see Beehive: The '60s Musical at the New Music Mountain Theatre. Author Visit: Michael Gabriele
Our Author & Filmmaker Series continues with Michael Gabriele, who will conduct a presentation on his book, The History of Diners in New Jersey, on Friday, March 9, at 7 pm.
Microwave Meals for Kids
Children ages 5 and up can learn how to make French toast in a mug during this month's session of Microwave Meals for Kids, set for Wednesday, February 28, at 4 pm. Please note: Participants must bring their own microwave-safe mug.
Lego Mindstorms for Teens
Teens are welcome to join us as we construct a new Lego Mindstorms robot, Wednesdays, February 7-28, from 4 to 5 pm. Robot will be programmed Wednesdays in March, also from 4 to 5 pm. RSVP 973-226-8636
Adult Paint Night
Bring some friends and kick back after a long week at our Adult Paint Night on Friday, March 2, at 6 pm. Pencilworks Studio will come to the library and provide all you need to paint a new masterpiece to take home! Materials fee: $20. Tickets available at the circulation desk.
NEW! Guitar Classes for Kids
Rainbow Fresh guitarist Rich Seiner will teach kids ages 7 and up the basics of guitar every Saturday in February from noon to 1 pm. Call to RSVP.
NEW! Fit for February
Join a fun, new group fitness activity on Monday, February 26, at 10 am. Explore different types of exercise and healthy recipes in a relaxed setting. Includes 20-30 minutes of low-impact exercise streamed on video, followed by a discussion. Ideal for beginning fitness levels. Bring a towel and water bottle. Call to RSVP.
Kick Your Cravings Workshop
Health & Lifestyle Coach Amy Bitton comes to the library on Monday, February 26, at 7:30 pm for a presentation on what makes junk food so addicting, as well as some strategies for overcoming cravings and temptations when they strike.
Knitting & Crochet Club
Enjoy an evening of knitting and crocheting at the library on Monday, February 26, starting at 7 pm. New members welcome.
Next Matinee Monday: February 26
Our next Matinee Monday, February 26 at 1 pm, will feature The Hitman's Body Guard, a 2017 comedy action film about an unlikely partnership. Movie is rated R and runs 2 hours. Popcorn will be served, no RSVP needed. Please note there is no Matinee Monday on February 19, library will be closed for Presidents' Day.
Scott's Solutions: Now Taking Appointments
Library assistant Scott Bergenfeld can show you the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other tech resources FRIDAYS 9 am-noon. Safely navigate social media; create resume templates, letters, and spreadsheets; utilize cell phone, iPad, and Kindle features, such as calendars and more. Please note: RSVP needed for this drop-in instruction, call 973-226-8636.
Mobile Hotspots Available
Mobile Hotspots are now available for our patrons to borrow! Available to patrons 18 or older with a valid driver's license and Roseland Free Public Library card in good standing. Each hotspot provides internet access for up to 10 devices. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the loan period is 14 days. There will be a $5 per day late fee.
Museum Passes Available
We have NEW museum passes to the Jewish Museum, Grounds for Sculpture, and the Children's Museum of Manhattan! Patrons can also borrow passes for themselves and/or their families for The Newark Museum, Montclair Museum, Morris Museum, The NY Transit Museum, The Jewish Museum, the Children's Museum of Manhattan, Grounds for Sculpture, and Imagine That!
